Police Friday were seeking the whereabouts of an 8- year-old girl and her mother, who is suspected of abducting the child during a visit at the Canyon Country home of the youngster’s grandmother.
Lundon Brown was abducted about 9:50 p.m. Thursday. Her grandmother is her legal guardian, according to Shirley Miller of the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station.
The girl’s mother, Marian Demus, has a history of drug use, Miller said.
Demus — who is black, 35 years old, 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 130 pounds — was accompanied by a gray-haired white man in his 40s. They were last seen in a black BMW.
Demus has ties to the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys, Miller said.
Lundon is black, 4 feet tall, weighs 44 pounds and has braided hair. She was wearing pink pajamas, brown boots and a brown jacket when she was taken.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Lundon or her mother was urged to call the sheriff’s Santa Clarita Valley Station at (661) 255-1121. Anonymous tips can be provided by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222- TIPS.
