A 29-year-old man wanted in connection with a murder in Washington state is believed to be in the Los Angeles area and should be considered armed and dangerous, the FBI reported.
Robert Deshawn Grott, who may have stayed in a downtown hotel on Tuesday, is wanted on an arrest warrant alleging murder, according to the FBI, whose Fugitive Task Force is leading the local search for him.
Grott is also wanted on a federal arrest warrant alleging unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, officials said.
“Grott is one of two subjects that (the) Tacoma Police Department believes were involved in the Feb. 1, 2016, homicide in the Tacoma area,” according to a statement from the FBI’s Seattle field office.
The other subject is Grott’s 22-year-old brother, Rashaad Grott, who turned himself in to authorities in Los Angeles and is in custody, according to the FBI.
“Rashaad Grott admitted to driving Robert Grott to L.A. from Tacoma, Wash. The FBI has confirmed that Robert Grott spent the night in a downtown L.A. area hotel on Feb. 2, 2016,” according to the FBI statement.
The gun used in the homicide has not been recovered and anyone who sees Grott should not approach him, but instead call a local law enforcement agency or 911 immediately.
