Man killed in Skid Row hit-and-run

A pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday by a hit-and-run motorist in the Skid Row section of downtown Los Angeles.

The motorist was driving east on Seventh Street at about 3 a.m., and the pedestrian was crossing Seventh at San Pedro Street, heading north, according to Officer Rosario Herrera of the LAPD‘s Media Relations Section.

Paramedics rushed the pedestrian to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, Herrera said. He was initially publicly identified only as a man in his 30s.

Police had no description of the suspect or his vehicle, she said.
