A 43-year-old Bakersfield woman was killed Sunday morning when the car she was driving veered off a freeway in Pasadena during heavy rain and slammed into a light pole, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two Bakersfield men, one 23 years old and the other 32, were injured in the crash, which occurred just before 7 a.m. on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway east of Lincoln Avenue, the CHP reported.
The driver, at the wheel of a 1992 Honda Accord, lost control of the car, veered right, hit a raised asphalt curb and then struck a light pole, according to the CHP.
She was pronounced dead at Huntington Memorial Hospital. Her name was not immediately released.
The 23-year-old passenger sustained a lacerated forehead and the 32-year- old complained of pain to one of his legs.
It was not immediately clear if any of the victims were related.
