Sheriff’s deputies searched Tuesday for four suspects who injured a man and a woman while trying to rob a home in Duarte.
The robbery attempt took place on Spinks Canyon Road about 1 p.m. Friday, according to the sheriff’s department.
The four suspects parked in front of the home’s driveway and sat for several seconds before approaching the first victim, who was working on his yard. They began attacking him as he tried to escape while calling for help from his neighbors, according to the department.
A female victim was also attacked as she opened her front door after two suspects rang the doorbell. Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.
A third person escaped injury as she fled in her car after stopping to check on screams from the home. One of the suspects tried to get into her car but she drove away in time, according to the department.
Three of the suspects were wearing black hoodies. One was described as between 18 to 25 years of age.
The suspects apparently never made a successful entry into the home. The three suspects escaped in a silver Range Rover with paper plates driven by a fourth person, according to the department.
Anyone with information was asked to call the sheriff’s Temple Station at (626) 285-7171.
