Authorities are seeking a 22-year-old state prison inmate who walked away from a re-entry facility in Los Angeles after managing to remove his GPS tracking device.

Donta Baker was transferred to the Male Community Re-entry Program on Feb. 2. About 5:20 p.m. Monday, he walked out the front door of the facility after testing positive for marijuana use, according to Terry Thornton of the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Donta’s GPS device was found inside the facility, Thornton said. He was serving a four-year sentence for grand theft and was scheduled to be released in mid-April, the spokesman said.

Baker is black, 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 205 pounds. Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to call any law enforcement agency or dial 911.
