A 42-year-old man was stabbed on a street in Burbank and critically wounded, and police Tuesday sought public help to find his attackers.
The attack occurred at intersection of First Street and Palm Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Monday, said Burbank Police Lt. Scott Meadows.
“The stabbing took place outside on the street, not inside a theater, as was initially reported,” Meadows told City News Service. “The victim is in critical condition this morning at a nearby hospital.”
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim “got into an altercation with a male and female on the First Street sidewalk …,” said Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.
“The altercation became physical and spilled out onto the roadway, before bystanders intervened and broke up the fight,” Losacco said. “The parties separated and walked away from the scene. The male and female, who have not been identified, were last seen walking south on First Street.”
The man was described as white or Hispanic, 25-35 years old, with short dark hair. The woman was described as Hispanic, about 25 years old, with long curly hair.
The weapon used in the crime has not been recovered. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Detective Henry Garay at (818) 238- 3210, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
