An unattended item found at the Metro Gold Line Station in Monrovia Monday resulted in a 90-minute closure until a bomb squad determined that it posed no danger.
The incident began about 8:30 a.m. at the station at 1651 S Primrose Ave., said Ramon Montenegro of the sheriff’s Transit Policing Division.
As a precaution, the station was closed, and southbound trains were turned back at the Duarte Station and northbound trains were turned back at the Arcadia Station. Buses were brought in to ferry passengers around the closed area.
Shortly after 10 a.m., the item was declared safe, and the station was reopened. Delays of about 15 minutes were reported.
