A woman who was stabbed at her South Gate home died at a hospital Monday, and a man was taken into custody as a suspect in her death and in the stabbing of a 6-month-old child who was hospitalized.
The attack was reported about 7:10 p.m. Sunday in the 5200 block of Pendleton Avenue, according to the sheriff’s department.
Alicia Williams, 32, who lived at the location, died at a hospital about 6:55 a.m. Monday, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.
The suspect’s name was not immediately released. Authorities could not immediately confirm broadcast reports that the suspect was the woman’s husband, and that he also stabbed the couple’s infant daughter.
