A man was struck by a car and killed Sunday while he was “running in circles” on the Glenn Anderson (105) freeway in Downey.

It occurred at 1:49 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 50-year-old Riverside woman was driving eastbound on the freeway in Santa Fe Springs in a 2010 Honda Odyssey when she hit the man, who was running in circles within the eastbound lanes of the freeway west of Lakewood Boulevard, said Mark Rasmussen of the CHP.

The man, whose name and age were not released, suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Rasmussen said.

The driver of the Odyssey was not injured.
