A car crashed through the wall of a one-story business in Wilmington Tuesday afternoon and sheared a fire hydrant, but no injuries were reported.

The collision was reported around 2:04 p.m. near 333 E. Harry Bridges Blvd., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Witnesses reported a car “pierced the wall” of the building, causing the fire hydrant to be damaged, he said.

“The towering water deluged the roof of the building,” Humphrey said.

The initial investigation did not indicate drugs or alcohol were involved, according to an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division.
