It’s not a great Sunday for a lot of drivers after an overnight sobriety/driver’s license checkpoint in Norwalk netted 28 arrests.
Twenty-six drivers were arrested and released on citations for operating a vehicle while unlicensed or while their license was suspended or revoked during the checkpoint on Alondra Boulevard, east of Studebaker Road that began at 6 p.m. Friday and ended at midnight, said Sgt. Andrew Thompson of the sheriff’s Norwalk station.
Also, a motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, and another motorist was arrested and then released on citation for knowingly allowing an unlicensed driver to operate their vehicle, Thompson said.
