Police were working Monday to identify two men in their mid-30s involved in the theft of a basketball signed by Kobe Bryant from the Team LA store at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.

One of the suspects took the black Spalding ball from a clear display box and exited the store in the 1100 block of South Figueroa Street with the other suspect without paying for the item, police allege.

The theft occurred about 10:35 p.m. April 15, according to a Los Angeles Police Department crime alert that shows images of both suspects.

The suspect who took the ball was described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180- 200 pounds with a dark brown, trimmed beard. He was wearing a yellow beanie, a black L.A. Kings jersey, blue jeans and white shoes. The other suspect is also 5 feet 9 inches tall, 170-180 pounds with dark brown hair. He was wearing a black jacket, black shirt with white print, blue jeans and black shoes.
