Investigators now believe a 31-year-old man killed in a horrendous crash in Anaheim ran a red light before the pickup truck he was driving collided with an SUV and overturned.
The driver, identified by the coroner’s office as Darwin Madrid- Trabanino of Anaheim, was headed west on Lincoln Avenue about 5:35 a.m. Wednesday when he ran a red light and collided with a northbound Honda CRV at the intersection with Anaheim Boulevard, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Madrid-Trabanino was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead at 8:06 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.
The SUV driver, a 41-year-old woman, and a 2-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Honda were taken to a hospital, but both were expected to recover, Wyatt said.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to have been involve in the crash, which remains under investigation by Anaheim police, Wyatt said.
