Why was a car pushed into the water from a Long Beach dock?
Officers speculated that the mystery vehicle may have been stolen as they responded to a report of a car possibly being pushed into the water from a dock in Long Beach and found the vehicle submerged. No one was inside and all possible suspects had already left the scene.
The vehicle was found in the 500 block of Queens Way Drive, according to Megan Zabel of the Long Beach Police Department.
“Upon officers’ arrival, they saw a partial vehicle visible from just above the waterline,” she said.
Divers searched the vehicle, but found no one inside, according to Jake Heflin of the Long Beach Fire Department.
Firefighters assisted with Saturday’s vehicle recovery, he said.
Investigators were looking into the possibility that the car was stolen, Zabel said.
