An out-of-control motorcycle hit a light pole and killed the 25-year-old rider who was thrown from the bike in Lancaster.
The dead man was identified as Lancaster resident Hamza Mohamed Shabaan, according to Investigator Anthony Lopez of the coroner’s office.
The biker was going southbound on Business Center Parkway, north of Avenue K-15, about 3:50 a.m. when he drove onto the raised center median and struck a light pole, said Detective Michael Politano of the sheriff’s Lancaster station.
Shabaan was ejected from the motorcycle, which continued southbound to strike a tree and come to a rest. Shabaan died at the scene and the body was discovered sometime later by a passerby. It was unknown why Shabaan lost control of the motorcycle, Politano said.
Detectives from the sheriff’s Lancaster station Traffic Detail asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (661) 940-3810.
