Police want your help to identify a man who sexually propositioned a girl while she was walking home from an elementary school in El Monte.
The girl was walking home from Gidley Elementary School, at 10226 Lower Azusa Road, when the suspect drove his vehicle alongside her at about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Arden Drive and Valley Boulevard and sexually propositioned her, said El Monte Police Lt. Christopher Cano.
The man continued to follow the girl as she walked. The suspect then got out of his vehicle approached the girl, who fled on foot. The suspect then got back into his vehicle and drove away, Cano said.
Another girl was contacted by a similar suspect in a similar vehicle at about 7 a.m. Wednesday while she walking in the 12000 block of Elliott Avenue, across from Parkview Elementary School, he said.
The suspect offered her a ride, which she refused. He drove away but returned a few minutes later and again offered her a ride. She fled on foot to Parkview Elementary and notified school staff, he said.
The suspect was described as a 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9-inch tall Latino man with a medium build, black hair, dark eyes and a light complexion, Cano said.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a late model, tan four-door Honda or Toyota that was “dirty,” or unkempt with tinted windows. The car had several stickers affixed to the rear windshield. The suspect may be living out of the vehicle, Cano said.
El Monte Police asked anyone with any information regarding the suspect or his vehicle to call them at (626) 580-2114.
