Three burglary suspects fleeing deputies were arrested after they crashed into another vehicle in Industry Tuesday, killing its driver.
The crash was reported at 3:52 p.m. at the intersection of Gale Avenue and Johnson Drive, according Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The victim, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene, Navarro-Suarez said.
Deputies had been chasing the suspects, who were wanted in connection with a burglary in Hacienda Heights, but backed off before the crash occurred, sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza told reporters at the scene.
The victim was his vehicle’s sole occupant.
The suspects, all men, were facing possible murder charges, Mendoza said.
“Suspects sometimes have no regard for … the public and that’s why homicide is here now,” Mendoza said. “Because when somebody dies in the commission of a felony, we seek to file murder charges on that person.”
