Authorities in Inglewood Friday investigated a report of a man attempting to lure a girl into his vehicle.

The girl reported that the suspect pulled alongside her in his car between 7:15 a.m. and 7:35 a.m. on Plymouth Street between Inglewood Avenue and Beach Avenue Thursday and asked if she needed a ride, according to Lillian Grant of the Inglewood Unified School District.

After the girl declined, the suspect continued to pester her as she walked along Beach Avenue to Ellis Avenue, Grant said.

“Parents should be vigilant in educating their children not to approach any vehicles where a stranger is trying to lure them to get in by offering them a ride,” Grant said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s with short black hair and a clean-shaven face. His car was described as a black four- door Toyota Corolla, possibly a model between 2009-2011, with alloy wheels.

The Inglewood Police Department is jointly investigating the case with school officials. Anyone with information about the suspect was encouraged to contact police at (310) 419-5210 and reference report number 16-40334.
