Hundreds of alleged child predators are off the streets in Los Angeles following a collaborative effort among law enforcement agencies, police said Friday.

In April and May of this year, the initiative, Operation Broken Heart III, resulted in the arrest of more than 238 suspected child predators in the region, according to a release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The department was working in tandem with Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Forces across the nation as well as Homeland Security Investigations, Child Exploitation Investigative Groups from Long Beach and Orange County, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the Fontana Police Department.

More information about the operation will be announced during a news briefing scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Jesse A. Brewer Jr. Park, 3875 Bill Robinson Lane in Los Angeles.
