One person was killed and two others were injured in a car-to-car shooting in South Los Angeles Thursday afternoon, authorities said

The shooting near the intersection of Slauson and Central avenues was reported just after 2 p.m., according to LAPD Officer Aareon Jefferson.

“One person was dead at the scene and two others were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries,” Jefferson said.

The identity of the deceased victim was withheld, pending notification of kin.

The car containing the victims crashed after the shooting and it’s unclear at this point if the victims who were sent to the hospital suffered injuries in the crash or were wounded by gunfire, Jefferson said.

There’s no suspect description available at this point, he said.
