The death of a man who was pulled from a house that was on fire and taken to a hospital where he later died was being investigated Thursday as “suspicious,” according to Long Beach police.

Firefighters who responded to the Wednesday night blaze in the 500 block of West Seventh Street notified police about the suspicious nature of the injuries the deceased man had suffered and officers responded to the hospital where the man was taken, police said.

The victim’s name was being withheld pending notice of kin, police said, and no further information was immediately available.

Anyone with information on the man’s death was asked to call LBPD homicide detectives at (562) 570-7244.
