Counterfeit pro sports team jerseys worth about a quarter of a million dollars were seized Thursday at an El Monte tattoo supply business.
The seizure was made after a search warrant was served by the Los Angeles County sheriff’s Counterfeit and Piracy Enforcement Team at TNS Tattoo Supply at 9866 Garvey Ave.
The team had spent a month investigating sales of counterfeit jerseys throughout the San Gabriel Valley area, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
“A search of the location revealed approximately $250,000 worth of counterfeit jerseys with L.A. Dodgers, L.A. Rams, and L.A. Angels logos printed on them,” Schrader said.
One suspect was detained and was being questioned, she said, but no arrests were immediately announced.
