One man was killed and two were wounded in a shooting at a graduation party in Artesia, authorities said.
One victim sustained gunshot wounds to his upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to a hospital in fair condition, Deputy Lisa Jansen said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that four unknown men arrived at the backyard party and “a confrontation ensued, which resulted in the shooting of the three victims,” Jansen said.
The shooting was reported at 10:20 p.m. Saturday in the 18000 block of Alburtis Avenue, according to Jansen.
