Police Tuesday circulated surveillance images of three suspects who stole a safe from a Rowland Heights home after tricking the 93-year-old resident into allowing them to come inside.

The crime happened about 1:45 p.m. on July 8 in the 19000 block of Jodi Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspects “posed as relatives of a neighbor and asked the victim for permission to use her restroom,” according to a sheriff’s statement. “While inside of her home, two of the suspects distracted the victim while the third suspect ransacked a walk-in closet in the master bedroom.”

One of the suspects blocked the woman’s view while another made off with a safe that was in the closet, according to the sheriff’s department.

The suspects were caught on surveillance video. They are described as:

–a white woman, 30-35 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 170 pounds with brown hair, last seen wearing a dark blue shirt and blue skirt;

–a white man, 60-65 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 220 pounds, last seen wearing a red windbreaker, red gloves and a white undershirt;

–a white man, 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 150 pounds, last seen wearing a red baseball cap and dark-colored T-shirt and pants.

Suspect 1

The woman and the man in the red windbreaker spoke proficient English, although the man used some Spanish phrases while communicating with his cohorts.
