A brush fire burned one acre of vegetation in Kagel Canyon in the Angeles National Forest.

The fire was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near Kagel Canyon Road and Lopez Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters reported getting hose lines all around the fire and stopping its spread at about 10 p.m.

Firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department assisted in the effort, the department’s Brian Humphrey said.

After the fire was stopped, the incident was turned over to the U.S. Forest Service and county crews remained to assist, officials said.
