Forty-nine responding firefighters managed to put out the blaze within 10 minutes, but in that time it managed to deal heavy smoke damage to three nearby apartments, Miller said.
The business below was closed due to water damage, he said.
Three firefighters were hospitalized for heat exhaustion but no residents were harmed, Miller said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation and a damage estimate was not immediately available.
