A man was fatally shot in South Los Angeles and the gunman remains at large this morning, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Sunday.
The shooting took place at 10:50 p.m. Saturday in the 9400 block of Normandie Avenue, according to sheriff’s Lt. Steve Jauch.
Deputies dispatched to the location regarding an “assault with a deadly weapon” call found the victim in a doorway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Deputy Mike Barraza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Jauch said. The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
A motive for the attack was unknown, and no suspect information was available.
