A child was struck by a vehicle and injured in the unincorporated South Whittier area Wednesday.
The crash was reported about 6:45 p.m. on Leffingwell Road near Leland Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The child was taken to a trauma center, a dispatch supervisor said.
The driver stopped at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol, which was investigating the crash. Details were not available, including the child’s condition and age and whether any legal action may be taken against the driver.
