Two suspects were being sought Saturday for an armed bank robbery in San Marino, police said.
The robbery was reported just before 2 p.m. on Thursday at One West Bank at 900 Huntington Dr., said San Marino Police Det. Brian Wong.
The suspects had fled by the time responding officers arrived, Wong said.
Officers searched the nearby areas and received aerial assistance from the Pasadena Police Department.
An investigation revealed that two male suspects entered through the bank’s first door and one of them pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at a worker behind the counter, Wong said.
The victim backed up as the suspect jumped over the counter, then emptied currency from several drawers and jumped back over the counter, the detective said.
Both suspects then fled the scene in a red SUV, Wong said.
They stole an undisclosed amount of cash, he added.
The first suspect was described as a black man in his 20s. He is 5-feet- 9 inches tall and has a thin build. He was wearing a light-colored long sleeve button down shirt and a baseball hat with an unknown logo on the front.
The second suspect is also a black male in his 20s. He had a heavy build and was wearing a light-colored shirt, tan shorts and a baseball hat.
The FBI is aiding in the investigation.
Anyone with information regarding the bank robbery is asked to call Wong at (626) 300-0719. Anonymous tips can be made by calling “Crime Stoppers” at 800-222-TIPS.
