A couple locked themselves in a bathroom during a suspected break-in of their Pasadena home early Sunday.

Deputies responded about 1:15 a.m. to a report of shots fired at a home in the 3600 block of Grayburn Road in east Pasadena, according to a watch commander with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Temple Station.

The two victims — a man and a woman — reportedly heard gunshots fired at or near their backyard shortly before one or more persons entered the house through a rear door, the sheriff’s official said.

Responding deputies arrived within minutes, but did not find the suspect or suspects, and no other neighborhood residents reported hearing gunshots, he said.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators remained on scene to dust for fingerprints and recover DNA from possible suspects, according to the watch commander.

It was not immediately clear if anything was stolen from the residence, he said.
