
A female pedestrian in her 70s was killed Saturday night when she was struck by a vehicle in Arleta, authorities said.
The incident happened about 8 p.m. on Terra Bella Street near Sharp Avenue, according to an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division.
The vehicle driver was a man in his 70s, the officer said.
A SigAlert was issued shutting down the northbound and southbound off- ramps from the Golden State (5) Freeway for the accident investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol. The ramps were reopened at 10:16 p.m. but no traffic was allowed westbound on Terra Bella Street.
