Two strike teams of firefighters from several Los Angeles County fire departments are in San Luis Obispo County to help battle the Chimney Fire, which has scorched more than 33,000 acres.
One team includes 21 firefighters from the Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Culver City fire departments.
It is the second strike team from Los Angeles County sent to assist in firefighting operations, after a 22-person deployment on Saturday, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department also sent a strike team consisting of 22 firefighters to help battle the fire today. Another county team of 22 firefighters was deployed Aug. 14, the day after the fire broke out near Lake Nacimiento.
The Orange County Fire Authority has also sent personnel to fight the fire, which has burned within a few miles of Hearst Castle in San Simeon.
The fire was 35 percent contained tonight, according to Cal Fire.
The blaze has caused one injury, destroyed 52 structures and damaged seven others.
