A suspect was wounded in a deputy-involved shooting in the Florence-Firestone area Thursday.
The shooting occurred about 5:45 p.m. on East 83rd Street near Beach Street, according to the Los Angeles County sheriff’s and fire departments.
One person was taken from the scene to a hospital, according to the fire department.
The suspect’s gender, age and condition were not immediately available and there was no immediate word on what led up to the shooting.
