The victim was Asghar Abbassi, and he was fatally injured about 6 a.m. on Aug. 6, 2013, as he used a walker inside a crosswalk while crossing White Oak Avenue at Valerio Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Suspect Arthur Song, 32, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and was booked into the Van Nuys jail with bail set at $50,000, according to sheriff’s inmate records.
A $50,000 reward had been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver, but it’s unclear if it had expired.
Detective William Bustos of the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division told the Daily News that some tips led to the arrest.
The vehicle believed to have been involved was impounded, he said.
“We did some search warrants today that culminated with that arrest,” Bustos said after Wednesday’s arrest.
