The coroner’s office has confirmed that a body found inside a submerged Dodge in the California Aqueduct in Littlerock was that of a young man missing since last week.
Authorities Sunday were trying to piece together the evidence to determine what led the car to leave the road and crash into the water.
The Los Angeles County Coroner confirms that the body of 18-year-old Gustavo Santana was found by divers in the car in the aqueduct.
The orange Dodge Dart was pulled from the water near 106th Street and Pearblossom Highway Friday.
The vehicle was found at the bottom of the waterway and sheriff’s divers found the body of a male inside, a CHP officer told reporters at the scene.
Family members of Santana said he had been on the way to his job at a McDonald’s restaurant late last week, but didn’t make it.
