Shots were fired in Pomona after two men became involved in a road rage altercation, authorities said.

It happened Sunday at Clark Avenue and Pasadena Street, Pomona Police Cpl. R. Scheppmann said.

Jesus Castillo, 25, and 26-year-old Christina Velasquez were in a vehicle with their three children when they encountered a man in his early 20s driving a blue, 2001 Toyota Corolla four-door sedan with tinted windows at Washington and Kingsley avenues, Scheppmann said.

“(The couple) and suspect were involved in a mutual road rage incident,”  Scheppmann said.

Castillo followed the man to Clark Avenue and Pasadena Street, where the suspect pulled over, got out of his car and fired two rounds toward Castillo’s vehicle, the corporal said. The suspect got back in his car and drove away.

Castillo’s vehicle was not hit by any bullets and no one was hurt, Scheppmann said.
