The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Wednesday for the ninth consecutive day, increasing a half cent to $2.787.

The average price has risen 5.9 cents over the past nine days and is 5.5 cents higher than one week ago and 14.8 cents more than than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. However, it is 55.9 cents less than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose for the seventh consecutive day today, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $2.775. It has increased 6.5 cents over the past seven days and is 6.5 cents more than one week ago and 16.8 cents higher than one month ago, but 51.1 cents less than one year ago.
