Los Angeles Police were searching Saturday for a gunman who killed two people and wounded two others in a shooting outside a home in East Hollywood.

The two surviving victims were taken to a hospital, Los Angeles Police Officer Mike Lopez said. Their conditions were not immediately known, Lopez said.

At about 7:50 p.m. Friday a man in his 20s walked up and opened fire on a group of people that were congregating at 555 N. Heliotrope Drive, near the Hollywood (101) Freeway, according to Lopez.

The motive was not immediately known.

The suspect is described as about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds and wearing all black clothing, Lopez said.
