One person was wounded in a shooting in the Westlake district Wednesday and the suspected shooter was arrested.

The victim, a male whose age was not immediately available, was shot about 6:10 p.m. in the area of Alvarado and Sixth streets, according to Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department.

He was conscious and breathing when taken from the scene in an ambulance.

A suspect, also a male whose age was not immediately disclosed, was arrested a short time later in the 700 block of South Coronado Street, Im said.
