A 65-year-old man was critically injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run motorist in Studio City, a police officer said Saturday.

The motorist’s car was described as a four-door 1998 Saturn Ion with California license plate numbers 6HAY595, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.

Police had no color description of the Saturn, Lopez said.

The accident was reported at 7:27 p.m. Friday in the 12000 block of Moorpark Street, near Laurel Canyon Boulevard, where the motorist was going eastbound on Moorpark when the car struck the pedestrian, police said.

LAPD Valley Traffic Division detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the hit-and-run to call them at (818) 644-8028.
