The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in South Los Angeles that came at the end of a vehicle pursuit, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at about 1 p.m. Saturday in the area of 107th Street and Western Avenue, said LAPD Officer Drake Madison of the Media Relations Section.
The LAPD Metropolitan Division ended a vehicle pursuit in the area, Madison said.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics were summoned to the scene at 1:05 p.m. but were cleared without transporting any patients, Dispatch Supervisor Cheryl Simms said.
The California Highway Patrol responded to a traffic collision at 106th Street and Denker Avenue since it was in an unincorporated area of the county, and reported a person from a vehicle involved in the crash went from the scene to 106th Street and Western Avenue because he was afraid of the people in the other vehicle.
The LAPD was sending a public information officer to the scene to provide further details, Madison said.
