
A 32-year-old man from San Bernardino was killed when he crashed his van into a large truck parked on the side of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Industry, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was on the southbound 605 Freeway near the Valley Boulevard offramp, and was reported at 5:44 a.m., according to the CHP.
According to the CHP, the 2010 Chevrolet van was headed south when the driver suddenly veered to the right, where a tractor trailer was parked. The van struck the rear of the trailer.
The driver was treated by paramedics but died at the scene, according to the CHP. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, and no other injuries were reported.
A SigAlert was issued at 6:04 a.m. as the Valley Boulevard offramp and the right two lanes of the four-lane southbound freeway were closed for nearly five hours, according to the CHP.
