A man in his 60s was struck and killed by two vehicles in Whittier, a police lieutenant said Sunday.

The man was crossing outside the crosswalk from the southern curb in the 16400 block Whittier Boulevard, when he was struck about 8:25 p.m. by a vehicle traveling west, according to Whittier Police Department Lt. Bryan Ellis.

Minutes later the pedestrian was struck by a second westbound vehicle. Both motorists stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, Ellis said. No motorist was cited or arrested.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the pedestrian will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the coroner’s office.
