Two people were shot in a possible gang related attack in the northern part of Long Beach, but despite a SWAT team’s best efforts, no arrests were made, authorities said.
Gunfire broke out about 6:35 p.m. Saturday in the 5400 block of Paramount Boulevard, near Candlewood Street and the border with Lakewood, said Long Beach Police Sgt. James Richardson.
A man was shot in the lower part of his body and a woman was shot in the lower torso, Richardson said. Both injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, according to the sergeant.
A SWAT team briefly surrounded the apartment while searching for the suspect but the scene was eventually cleared and no arrests were made, Richardson said.
