
A vehicle crash set off a brush fire in the Castaic area Saturday that firefighters contained to 1 1/2 acres, authorities said.
It was reported at 1:17 p.m. on Ridge Route Road at Pine Crest Place, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle overturned and caught fire, according to the CHP. Five people were inside the vehicle. One suffered a head injury and one suffered an injured hip. All got out of the burning vehicle, the CHP said.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and contained the fire to 1 1/2 acres, Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo said. Three people were taken by ambulances to hospitals, he said.
