A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Glendale Monday.
The person, described only as male, was struck shortly before noon at San Fernando Road and Doran Street, according to the Glendale Police Department. He died at the scene.
There were some unconfirmed reports that the death may have been a suicide, but there was no official confirmation of that speculation.
Metrolink officials said the person was hit by Amtrak train 774.
Due to the investigation, Metrolink’s Los Angeles-bound Antelope Valley Line 214 train will terminate at the Burbank Downtown Station, and buses will be brought in to shuttle passengers to Los Angeles.
Also, Metrolink’s AV Line 218 train to Los Angeles was canceled, as was Metrolink’s Ventura County Line 109 train to Moorpark.
