Law enforcement officials Saturday were trying to figure out who shot and killed a man on the border of Compton and the unincorporated Willowbrook area.
The shooting was reported at early Friday evening in the 1900 block of North Salinas Avenue, between Central Avenue and Avalon Boulevard, according to the sheriff’s department.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and detectives from the LA Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau were dispatched to investigate, Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said.
No other details were available.
