A man was killed Saturday and another was critically injured when their vehicle crashed into a Veterans of Foreign Wars building in Norwalk.
There was no immediate word of a cause of the crash, nor if alcohol may have been involved in the early morning darkness.
The single-vehicle crash was reported at 1 a.m. near the intersection of Front Street and Funston Avenue, Sgt. Eric Arias of the Los Angeles County Sheriff‘s Norwalk Station said.
The driver was dead at the scene and his passenger was rescued and transported to the hospital with unknown injuries in critical condition, Arias said.
No one was in the VFW building at the time of the crash.
The cause was under investigation and information about the extent of damage to the building was not immediately available.
