A man’s bullet-riddled body was found outside a liquor store in South Los Angeles, police reported Sunday.

Police had no early word of a motive for the slaying, or if the killing had taken place inside the store and the victim managed to stagger outside. Officers declined to speculate on the possibility the death was connected to any kind of robbery.

Los Angeles Police and paramedics arrived just before midnight Saturday to investigate a report of a shooting in the 6300 block of South Hoover Street.

They found the victim lying just outside the front doors of a liquor store and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The investigation is in the early stages and there was no information about a suspect or possible motive.
